COVID-19 vaccine available on campus

UVA-Wise will hold the Virginia Department of Health COVID vaccination clinic from 10 a.m.-noon at the David J. Prior Convention Center today, April, 14.

Originally the plan was to distribute the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. However, “due to the CDC and FDA pause on this vaccine,” the clinic will be distributing the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and the second dose on May 5 to make sure it is given out before Commencement.

This clinic is only being offered to students and employees of UVA-Wise and preregistration is required. There is still time to preregister for the vaccine through VHD.

Once one has preregistered, it asked that one please arrive to receive the vaccine by entering the Prior Center via the access road and lower lot, using the glass doors near the HVAC systems. There will be signage there to mark the appropriate entrance.

The College, and Chancellor Henry, wants to thank everyone once again “for keeping our Highland Cavalier community safe.”
