“The Revolutionists” written by Lauren Gunderson is a play about the “Reign of Terror” in France. The play features four characters played by Ashley Woolridge, Devin Gwynn, Autumn Bolling, and Ellery Hussman as they navigate the perils of France at the time. One of the set pieces will include a 12-foot guillotine.

“Woyzeck!” is a play that will touch on subjects such as gendered violence, apocalyptic hallucinations, lust and social control. Hunt hopes that the play will incite a dialogue and believes that the play coincides with the #metoo movement. The Play will star Alex Deckard, Kendra Gilbert, Dylan Mabe, Garett Nunley, Morgan Lancaster, Kara Dotten, Elizabeth Dingus and Saskia Miechowski.

Both plays will be free of charge to UVa-Wise students with a Cavs Card and will be $5 for non-students. Students can earn cultural credits at both events.

  1. We appreciated your preview some time back, and liked the fact that you did the first theater review in my memory for the Highland Cavalier. Please come see Woyzeck and review it. We’re very excited about an invigorated relationship with the paper.
