Lonesome Pine Regional Airport is hosting its annual “Let Freedom Ring” airshow and veterans event Sept 13-15.
This year’s event features a display of Vietnam-era helicopters brought by the North Carolina Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association, according to event organizer Bob Spera.
Also featured this year is the “Moving Wall,” a traveling ½ scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans war Memorial in Washington D.C.
The “Moving Wall” was first built in the mid 1980’s and travels across the U.S. to honor the more than 58,000 people who died in the Vietnam conflict.
Admission to Let Freedom Ring is free.
Public ceremonies will be held on Saturday, Sept 15 to honor area veterans. The ceremonies start at 10 a.m.
Experimental Aircraft Association 1416 and the Cumberlands Airport Commission organize “Let Freedom Ring”.
