College Provost assures summer school safe from shark attack
The 2017-18 academic year is almost over, which means it is time for students who are looking to get ahead or catch up on course work to sign up for summer school.
The first summer session starts May 21 and runs through June 22. The second session starts June 27 and runs through July 3.
This year students can request financial aid for their summer courses. If you plan to take summer courses at the college and would like to use aid, please complete the online aid request form and make sure that the financial aid office has the results of your 2018-2019 FAFSA – https://www.uvawise.edu/financial-aid/summer-financial-aid-application/
Provost Sandy Huguenin has had his fair share of fun with his annual witty emails to students encouraging them to sign up for summer classes and holding a t-shirt contest.
“I write to remind you again of the incredible value, low cost, quality and safety from aquatic predators that you will find at UVa-Wise’s Summer College,” Huguenin wrote in a recent email to the college community.
Lexi Hillman was the winner of the t-shirt contest and her design will be placed on the shirt that students receive when they sign up for summer classes.
Summer housing applications are now open in the housing section of the student portal. Summer housing includes water, electricity, cable, internet and rent at just $550 per summer session. Meal plans are not required during the summer.
