Annual Giving Thanks Day

Gray Hamilton wrote a thank-you note Wednesday in appreciation of scholarship assistance he has received as a student at UVa-Wise. Several students wrote thanks as part of the college’s seventh annual Giving Thanks Day at the Books and Brew level of the library.

The UVa-Wise Office of Development held its annual Giving Thanks Day on Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Books and Brew area of the library.

Students who receive scholarships on campus were encouraged to stop by and write their donors a letter of gratitude.  Senior Director of Development Valerie Lawson said the turnout was better than expected on such a chilly day.  Students who write letters will receive a custom UVa-Wise keychain as a gift for their contribution.

Faculty, staff, and students who do not receive scholarships are encouraged to write letters to donors as well.  Students who did not get the chance to stop by today can still write a letter of appreciation by going to the office of Development in Bowers-Sturgill H

all as soon as possible.
