Volleyball Earns Conference Win Against Glenville State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – UVa-Wise volleyball posted 41 kills and 53 digs as the Cavaliers earned a 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 11-25, 25-22) victory over Glenville State College. The Cavs (6-19, 2-9) held the Lady Pioneers (0-20, 0-11) to a .112 attack percentage en route to their second conference win of the season.

Freshman Makayla Ledford recorded 14 assists while sophomore Morgan Milligan posted another double-double with 21 assists and 16 digs. Sophomore Briana Kerr contributed 12 more assists as junior Ciara Kain narrowly missed a double-double, registering 17 kills and nine digs. Junior Eustaica Smith added nine kills and nine digs while freshmen Madelyn Lawrence and Brooke Abott both tallied six kills in the Cavaliers win.

Glenville State’s Haley Wolff and Bailey Brawner both posted 13 kills with Wolff adding 12 digs and Brawner recording 15 digs for the Lady Pioneers. Allison Parski led the Lady Pioneers in assists with 22 and  tallied 10 digs while Madison Gargus posted 17 assists and nine digs.

Cavalier volleyball will return home to host another conference matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 1, against West Virginia State University. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
