Silent Witness Virginia: A Visual Memorial, Library 5th floor (Books and Brew)

View this statewide visual memorial to victims of domestic violence homicide. Each life-size red silhouette shares the story of a Virginian killed in a domestic violence homicide.

Violence Against Women Lecture, Dogwood Room @ 1pm

Join the discussion on sexual violence. Featured speaker is Yenli Yeh, Ph.D., UVa-Wise Associate Professor of Administration of Justice and Sociology.

Tue 4/11

Consent and Cookies, SSC Atrium @ 11am-2pm

Stop by and enjoy some cookies while also getting educated about consent.

Wed 4/12

The Hunting Ground: Documentary and Discussion, SSC Dogwood Room @ 3pm

View this award-winning documentary film about campus sexual assault at U.S. colleges and universities, followed by group discussion on this important issue.

Thu 4/13

Take Back The Night Poster Making, SSC Atrium @ 11am-2pm

Individuals and organizations, join us to make a poster to carry at tonight’s TBTN march. Education and awareness information will be available, along with free give-aways!

Take Back The Night & Fear2Freedom Celebration, Cantrell Banquet @ 7pm

Join us for TBTN — a sexual violence education and awareness event featuring a keynote address, educational displays, march, and a candlelight vigil. Immediately following TBTN, join us for a Fear2Freedom packing party and assemble kits for sexual assault survivors.

Fri 4/14

Team Up 4 Teal Softball Game, Cavalier Field @ 1pm

Cheer on the UVa-Wise Softball team as they wear teal ribbons in support of Sexual Assault Awareness! Fans are encouraged to wear teal, too! Listen for informational PSAs and visit the information table.
