Following winter break, the men’s and women’s tennis teams prepare for the spring season after a successful fall season.
The women’s team heads into the spring season on the tail end of a fall season in which they went 8-8 in season matches. The Cavs went 3-4 in conference play. Wise showed better results away from their home campus as they posted a 5-3 record away and a 2-4 record at home. Taylor Carter will try to build off her freshman season as she posted an 11-3 singles record in the fall. Mackenzie Lawson also had strong showings in the fall with her 9-3 singles record.
There are only four matches on the women’s schedule for the spring with the first match coming on Feb.18 at 1 p.m. in Wise.
The men’s team completed their fall season with a 2-3 record as they gear up for the large part of their 16-17 season. Josh McFadden will look to build off his 3-1 overall singles record as Andrii Rutnytskyi looks to add more wins to his 2-2 singles record.
The men’s season will begin on Feb.10 with the Charleston Invitational in Charleston, West Virginia.
