In this issue’s column, Miss Cindy gives advice to one letter-writer on how to stay positive and suggests another stop judging people lest they wind up…achem…down South.
Dear Miss Cindy,
How do you stay so positive? Help me!
Dear Feeling Low,
Staying positive is as easy as being negative. It’s a choice. Life is all about choices.
You choose to get out of bed, you choose to take a bath, what clothes to wear, what shoes to put on, which jewelry, perfume, blah, blah, blah! It goes on all day, every day.
So, in a nutshell, I choose to be positive. What you give, you always get back.
It’s really a theory. It’s called reciprocity – giving and receiving. I also call it the boomerang effect.
Get up tomorrow and make a choice. Be positive. It makes life easier and less stressful! God knows we don’t need any more stress!
Trade stress for peace. It surpasses all understanding.
Dear Miss Cindy,
Who do you think you are? You know gays go to Hell. You’re not all that! So put this in your newspaper!
To start out on a positive note, at least you have acknowledged that there is a Hell, and I’m afraid that you’ll be in danger of going there if you don’t stop judging people.
Now I’m going to give you a piece of my mind. You’ll only get a piece of it because I’m keeping the rest for myself!
Obviously, you don’t own a mirror. I’d be glad to lend you one of mine since I have several. I use them regularly.
Get my drift?
As for me not being “all that,” I beg to differ! To quote “Forrest Gump” … “That’s all I have to say about that.”
I listen to the news all the time, and I haven’t heard where God abdicated His throne and sat you in it!
—Lovingly, Miss Cindy
